hey guys! im sick of opening my bonnet to be greeted with a dull looking scruffy engine!
so to try and clean it up a bit i gave it a good going over with a wire brush drill thingy but all it does its taked off all the oil but stil leaves the engine a reeli dull grey :cry: :cry: :cry:

any ideas on what i could use to clean it up shiny cheers



plz post pics if you have any!

Paint the block, and polish the rocker cover/top end.
And just give the bay a general clean

If you want to do it properly you're going to have to take the engine out and get it chemically cleaned where appropriate and then paint where you can:

Then when it's in the car it will look fairly decent for a period of time, but you must keep on top of it if you want it to look good for as long as possible:

I'd just like to point out my engine is filthy in comparison to Keiths though, lol.

so does this have to be done profesionaly or can i just buy something in a car to spray on??

ps what air filter is that baxter very nice where from and how much?

The main block was chemically cleaned by a company. I painted the head and rocker cover with hammerite smooth spray paint. I gave it several light coats and it seems to have done the job.

ahhhh so its has been painted!! lol so reeli all i need to do to tidy it up is get it all cleaned spray it ehn give it a coat of laquer!!

Is that Chemically cleaned and then Sprayed ? or is that just the fresh metal on the block ?

if so how much did it cost roughly, i need to get mine done asap u see
