The only thing that I will say to you is Technics SL-1200/1210. Don't look anywhere else - save up and get yourself a set of Technics....... there definately the best decks out there.......

Actually if u learn on technics, u will be a bit shit on anything of lesser quality.

Learn on average decks, and technics will be a piece of piss... plus you'll take pleasure in showing up fellow DJ's if you ever DJ @ somewhere with not so ace decks. You are used to 'em, yer mateys aint. You sound good, your m8s sound shit.

It's all about skill :)

So, cheap DD decks:

Citronic PD1 (look weird but nice torque)
Numark TT1520 and TT100's (I think)
Soundlab DLP32(S) - the S = silver deck with blue strobe
Gemini XL500ii's which I believe Micky has? So he can tell you about them

They're the best budget direct drive decks... I cant remember loads of shops but check out www.djstore.co.uk and www.decks.co.uk

I have some well old 2nd hand Soundlab DLP3R Direct Drive decks... and they are poo :) But I can mix on them, unlike my m8s who claim to be good DJ's :) I aint big headed... if I can use the decks, I can use the decks - good for me, good for my listeners.

Good luck in yer purchasing :)
