View Full Version : Thick question!!!!
Just got a K&N for my 1.3 SR, what do you do with the breather pipes that fit onto the standard filter box?
Any help appreciated!!!
I think some people drill a hole in the bottom of the K&N and put the pipe into that.
But IIRC you can just leave them hanging, but i don't know whether you need to block them, or just leave them open.

just poke it down the back of the engine so it points downwards. Occasionly oil fumes/drips will come out of it. Its not neccesary to use it.

ooops wrong post sorry guys
Thanks for the prompt replies.
You can buy a little filter to go over it (about ?15 from Halfrauds), but i'd just leave it as it is (and facing downwards).
it's just a breather, when using the K&N the oil on the filter means that your engine will be breathing K&N oily air.
The standard filter should be dry therefor with the normal airbox on, it breaths dry clean air.
therefor, as said, leave it dangling down, or if worried, by a crankcase filter but they are extortionate for what they are
