got t/v yesterday, Jim your car looks ace m8!, and the pics are awsome! the first pic on top of the multi storie car park is prolly one of my favourite pictures of a nova ever! realy does look good!
the rest of the mag was total wank as usual minus the gold corsa
starting to annoy me now, you can read the whole mag in half an hour, as most of the cars are shite!
i tend to buy performance ford now as its a much better mag all round :D

Jim's feature is one of the best, if not the best they've ever done! The pics were fine and the text was also relevent for a change!
One niggle though - on the first page they could of put the text the 'correct' way as holding the mag on it's side to read it is plain annoying! It's not the first time they've done this and I doubt it'll be the last!

We should setup somekind of TV feedback group, get ppl from all the main Vaux website/forums to have their say and sent those opinions/suggestions to TV every month.

Cheers Dan, and everyone else.

I was very pleased with the pictures and the write up. The way the article was written was spot on. Funny thing is, during the day I couldn't remember what went on over the last 5 years of owning the car. It wasnt till I got home and starting emailing him that it all came back to me, lol. I think I emailed him about 4 pages of A4 text about the last 5 years. The writer took the best bits and as they say, the rest is history.

I'm trying to get the original images from the photographer, but there are copyright issues apparently.

Cheers again guys, it's nice to have something in print. At least I'll be able to remember the car as it was before it gets sold, lol.

You do know I'm talking about Dan from off here? Of course I'm going to give it a go :) The car is all diffed up with a 4.53FD, so will be interesting to see how it performs.

I agree the feature was excellent, my mate Brad owns the gold Corsa which is also a really nice car, the Mk3 Astra on TB's was good as well, apart from that the mag was absolute bollocks. Brimming with adverts for billy boy bumpers.

I agree with what someone said further up about buying Performance Ford, the mag is excellent but the cars are :|

what do you mean the cars are :| in performance ford?

the fact they are better than most vauxhalls ever will be? most of the cosworths in there put almost all vauxhall specs to shame!

what would you rather have a chav turbo or escort cosworth, hmmm let me think

Just been looking through past TV Features, and some of the early Nova features were superb too.

Recent (well, almost recent ones) like Martin Kelsons and Karl Rowntree's were also Awesome features.

Jims is certainly up there too!

I don't like Fords, well thats a lie I do like them I just would never own one.

I would prefer a Escoss to a Cavalier Turbo, anybody would, but then a Escoss costs 3 or 4 times the price of a decent Cav Turbo so its swings and roundabouts.

imo that gold corsa wasnt a cover car. Yes its good quality but the "content" so to speak wasnt that mind blowing fora cover car.

i wasnt surprised at the ammount of adverts in there, tbh i expect them teses days. Just take a look in Top gear, Practical Classics etc and you will see that they are the same.

i'd imagine there comes a point when u start to spend/waste more time changing gear than accellerating and it starts to detract from performance

i know with bruces CR418, 1st is a blink and second aint much better

a cr453 would just be bonkers imo, depending on the rev limit your prolly gonna have to go for 5th at the end of the run (im sure i recall dan saying he was just about reaching the end of 4th on his runs with the 418)

it will be interesting to see the difference it makes, but that last gearchange could be the killer

Let me worry about that ;) If the 4.53 is no good, I still have the 4.18 as a spare :)

meh changing gear on a country road isnt a problem. and remember fun isnt in a straight line ;) lol

the 453 is jsut awesome fun over the 418. who cares that you get FA top speed when you can get to it stupidly fast etc

I have not seen your feature yet Jim. I will go out and buy it today.

As for the final drive. I would say stick the 4.53 in for abit and tell me your opinion on it!! As i would prob fit one if its silly acceleration!!

aragorn the 4.53 on jims setup should be spot on tbh with no disadvantages, there are also enough differences between mine and his that comparisons cant really be made to say what suits his best.
