My Nova Rebuild WIP Pics (56k Warning!)

Don't know if anyone remembers but my Nova was badly vandalised about this time last year, and eventually ended up looking like this:

Just before Christmas i bought a Golf GTi so i could take the Nova off the road to rebuild it; however i never got round to doing anything to it apart from a new set of wheels.

Well more recently, after seeing all the PV pics i thought it was about time i got on with it, so here you go the pics so far:

Today i intended to to finish my front bumper and put it in primer, roll the front arches and trial fit the wings:

The front bumper, with the number plate recess removed. I did this using the original GSi bumper, a standard mk2 bumper, and a plastic welder :)

Next, the front wings. Firstly i sprayed all the edges and the insides and then rolled the arches:

However, both the front wings are new pattern panels and the fitment is shite:

So after about 3 hours of trimming, bending, cursing and reverting back to one of the original wings, there on:

Also removed the badge from the bonnet, and removed the rear wiper:

All in all its starting to get there! Look out for more progress next weekend as i intend to spray the whole thing then :)

Nice to see some original ideas there - sorry to see the cr@p fit of those wings.

Keeping the same colour or going for something different than flame pink??? :lol:

Nice one mate, some good progress there.
Front bumper looks tidy without the number plate recess.
Looks like the new rear arches/sills etc are fitted in tidy,and smoothed well.

It'll all be worth it in the end :wink:

is it me, or does that look good on the bonnet going down the wings!

not saying it was a nice thing to do, but the get it quite nice on iti would have sorted the white (paint stripper) on the rear and have left that on the front :roll:

Looks good. I really need to learn to weld so i can fix things that fast. I like the front bumper idea but reckon it would look good with the bumper big mouthed.

The wings were awful, not very impressed at all with them. I'm going for flame red again, but i think i'm gonna do about 2 coats, then about 2 coats of 50% lacquer and 50% paint, and then a coat or two of lacquer. We'll see how it goes anyway, but hopefully it'll stay red!

Yeh that was suggested after i washed off all the stripper, i think it would of looked quite cool!

well said mate! peopel that do that sort of shit need to be tracked down and need there head kicking in!

really starting to take shape, i reckon get rid ot recess in the back aswell but keep the black gsi strip if possible get the smooth bumper look on it aswell and will look proper sweet imo

but what ever happens mate keep it standard :D
