My engine is kind of shagged well definatly drives like that, anyway the problem is when driving the car it jumps/jidders about ALOT on accerlation and can only get about 30mph.

When idling it feels like its about to stall, and when revved backfires like crazy aswell

Am right in thinking it could be the ditributer or am i barking up the wrong tree?

engine is a 1.0

any help appreciated

i got mine from speedy parts brand new for 12 quid, thing is there a bit funny the pump works of a little arm thing that basicaly is repeatedly smacked by the big end and wen i removed mine the little arm thing was pitted and bent out of shape, not suprising really, bad design, any way did you replace the points, condenser, rotor arm and cap in the dizzy?

Theres a lever thing on the front of the airbox IIRC.
Controls hot/cold air mix

its on the back of the air filter near the heater unit its usualy a red plastic butterfly clip that you undo and move either left or right, no idea what it does coz mines different

It alters the mix of hot/cold air.
On one setting more hot air is fed in from the manifold, to help with running in winter.
Another setting less hot air is let in, as cold air produces more power.

Just have a look all around the air box for a flap lever thing, i am not 100% where it is.
