Coilovers on the front

When you run adjustable 2 1/4 inch coilovers can you get away without changing the strut tops? I just looked at the top spring mount and it looks like there is enough room for a 2 1/4 spring, but I dont have one to hand to offer up. ..... or do you have to change them to something else?

erm do you mean the part that the spring is held in place with, or do you mean the rubber part that bolts onto the wing?

you can get away with using the part that bolts onto the wing, but its not the best way to do it

Yeah, I suppose I really mean the spring seat which is the bit with the bearing in. can you use a 2 1/4 on that without modification?

From your diagram looks like I need the top spring retainer, any clues where I can get them from?

I take it you don't have the origanals then. I just went to Vauxhall to get some when I needed them. They cost 11.10 each plus vat
