Im gradually getting a new engine together consisting of a blydenstein head and 1.3 rally spec bottom end. I'm just using a Weber 32/34 carb for now until I can budget some twin 40's.

Would a 4-2-1 manifold be better or a 4-1? I know the 1.4SR have 4-2-1 manifolds and my current one is a 4-1, but where can I get performance/stainless ones from?

you will want one like this 4-1 after market one. You will probably get a little bit more top end power from this unlike the 4-2-1 one

My understanding is that a 4-1 will give you the best power output high up in the rev range. However this is at the cost of mid range end torque. The 4-2-1 will have better mid range torque but will suffer with the top end power compared to the 4-1.

yea thats right darren, 4-2-1 are somewhat more expensive so for what its worth i say 4-1. i have one on mine and it certainly made a difference. besides if you're gonna be putting your foot down 9 times outta 10 you'll be top end mostly anyway, just wont have as much punch early on in the revs
