Not unless theres any vtec engined mini's ect, or stuff running high amounts of gas

I think gas puts u in the same class as turbo's, and gas and turbo puts u in the 'special' class (thats special cars not special people :D ) or at least thats how it was a few years bk.
The only cars me and my mates could think of that could be faster in an upto 1600cc N/A FWD class are
Mini's with FWD VTEC or Hayabusa (non-turbo)
Saxo's/106's on throttle bodies
AX GT's runnin VTS engine + throttle bodies
CRX / Civic with some serious tuning (most get turbo'd tho)

Humm yeah i guess there might be a few Saxo's or 106's on tb's would not think there hitting same times as you mate,as for AX's whats that guy runing that you and Neil know?? theres that white one but he has nos.

If ur on about shorey's AX (the guy who did the 'ring DVD) then its not built yet and i doubt will be on Throttle bodies.
I don't reckon saxos would be light enough without major work as well, there's a guy here at work who races in stock hatch and his fully stripped is still 860kg, mine will be around 200kg lighter :o

Yeah the guy who lives in marton, whats his plans on the AX?
is that how much a stripped out saxo is?? :?
fek i didnt know yours was that light though :P

Sorry dude, class A was up to 1998cc, but not including it. class B was 1998cc to 2495cc. I asked the old girl at the desk when i signed in.
I use to know of a 106 that was running a 1.6 16v lump on TB's. I think that was running sub 14 second 1/4's.
Anyway, surely it comes down to how your car runs on the day? It's an impressive feat that you've run a sub 14 1/4, but you may not get sub 14 at USC? - I'm sure you will though
Jim
oli, what you done to the shell other than stripped? fiberglass panels and the like? and have you tried sticky tyres? if not would you like to borrow some?
umm benji, you can have too much grip (as CP proved) for draging

Saxo's, on TB's i doubt many would touch your time.
most of the Serious Saxo's run Rotrex Superchargers. I think there are a few hitting around 250-260bhp !
But then again, they would be in the Specials Category.
I also read up on a Twin Mi6 VTS conversion. I bet that would fairly shift !

Benji, i don't have any fibreglass panels yet, all i've done is remove EVERYTHING i don't need and i've now started chopping out any metal i can get away with. I've run on the same set of A539's for the last 4 years and they've still got tread left! i must've done 20,000 miles including over 50 1/4 miles and numerous track days :o i reckon they must be some prototype concrete ones  .
I've got some dunlop formula R's that i might put on for USC, either that or a tin of tyre softnener.
I can't believe you can generate enough grip to stop the wheels spinning in first so the stickier the better
Never mind getting a sub 14 i wanna get a 13.5...or less :D

The White AX your on about Scott is Shoreys mates. Its a VTS Engine with everything done and also a Diff. But now he's got Direct Port NOS. At USC last year he'd just had the TB's fitted and ran 14.6 So I bet it shifts now its Gassed and setup.
Oli I think your main competitors will be people with Bike engines... Theres always some Nutcases with Weird cars (don't even know what there called  ) with Bike engines. That or some DTA'd 1.6 Turbo Nova's  Lol
Are you there for the weekend this year?

Cool that AX will be flying then now,but shame he couldnt do it 100% N/A none of this gay Turbo and nos stuff
Mate i must call you about the fiting of the TB's soon,im off work at the mo so could start it while off work?
Scott
it was to hot there last year

Yes i remeber getting sun burt in the quew for the1/4 and it was 8.45 am
And it wernt just me was it Neil who found it hard to gain traction last year, even your times sufferd.
Scott
i will admit it was a bit trickier to find grip......so did find it harder than others lol
Never mind getting a sub 14 i wanna get a 13.5...or less :D
Good luck Oli, I hope you manage it. Would be a massive achievment for the small block N/A engine.
Jim
There is a Suzuki Swift Powered Nova that is supposed to be pushing 220bhp, i cant see it but then that would be in an even lower class
1.3 16v 100bhp as standard theres a possibility
i also can't imagine having too much grip. charles must have been struggling to launch it right. but sticker tyres can only be a good thing and with enough practice you should be able to get it spot on.
