wow lad; shes in then... mate - u shudn't give a fook how much its running: its over 200bhp, far too much in a lil nova; ull get no grip/traction anyway; maybe too fast for you..... lol. :D

Matt EvoVI

About 350 BHP  sorry had to get that in

Aragorn
19-06-05, 01:36 AM
probably about 150

you'll rip that intercooler off as soon as u start driving and then you'll have no boost, and that leaves XE with low compression which isnt gonna be too hot  :P

Id say about 210. What exhaust are you running? If its any smaller than the original 2.5" then it will be restricting it and loosing you power.

lol nope just the fact that the pic youve posted of the apparently finished article shows the intercooler sitting on the deck

WTF is going on with that header return pipe, could it be any longer

dan16v
19-06-05, 05:10 PM
lol yea, m8 why not just zip tie it to the slam panel then into the header!

and lol i would much rather a let nova than an xe imo xe gets boring very fast!

To be honset id rather have a xe then spend the money on throttle bodies. Always have liked the sound of throttle bodies and the performance. Neva have been to keen on turbos.

that will slow the water down.... rather have the water flowing through the turbo fast

?1.50.... yes im willing to pay 50% over to secure it lol.

how old was the engine when you bought it? had it been rebuilt?

if its not had an easy live then id say that its "back to std" power with the mods youve done.

have a look on www.max-boost.co.uk its a massive bible to the LET and it will educate you beyond your wildest dreams lol

WOW - Im supprised at the reaction to this car :? Although the header tank pipe does look a little odd. So may be worth looking in to.
Nice to see it finshed-ish

Nice one mate - I bet it flys!! Anything 200bhp+ is fecking rapid!

M_U_T_A_N_T21
20-06-05, 01:05 PM
the thing is how can i get round the header tank pipe due to the angle it comes out the turbo the pipe kinks if i run it along the front unless i get a special pipe made i thought it looked quite sexy myself and as for the engine it cost me nothink so would you have droped it in

Stuart
20-06-05, 01:19 PM
but do you know the history of the engine? if its been treated badly then tis going to "struggle" to hit 200bhp, if its a fresh build and everything is done right then maybe 215ish with the intercooler.

It seems the LET is fairly delicate when it comes to running them hard so a freshen up is usually in order.

yea well the engine does need a rebuild and i will be doing that before i put it back on the road it needs all the gaskets doin an that but for what its cost me to do the conversion which is fuck all, i can spend the money on rebuilding the engine to tip top condition took some pictures today aswell

Can I ask why you bought a rev counter that goes to 11,000rpm?

Jim

scott.parker
21-06-05, 01:23 PM
lol i never noticed that one jim, humm is a bit OTT as the engine wont get over 7.000 rpm, well it wont need to or you will have missed the optimum gear change point.

Bloody hell youre all a bunch of girly biatches!

Poor guy asks an honest question and you all rip the p1ss.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves - all of you!!!

Dont listen to them! Looks good mate - ignore the riff raff - jealousy is a bad thing in the Nova community!

Get it finished - make a good job of it and then watch them dribble!

Just dont overkill the feckin body kit or I'll take the p1ss!

8)

must admit - that intercooler does look a little low on the latest pic - maybe its me

does it really matter that much ?

Woooooah, Chill. I was only asking.

If you like it thats cool, but personnaly I would have bought one that goes up to 7 or 8k - these are just as easy to get as the ones that rev to 11k.

Each to their own...

im sorry but i agree with jim, i went to buy one for my old 1.2 but i couldnt bring my self to it....i dont see the point ir ur limit is set at 7 having one that revs to 11

You would have been better with a EGT gauge or a wideband lambda setup than a rev counter. After all its better to know when to turn the car off before it blows up rather than know what revs you were doing when it blew up.

Stuart
22-06-05, 01:13 PM
incidently rick, have you got your wideband sensor setup yet?
Are you still looking at the AEM styless one?
im pondering gettin the LM-1 (or the non logging cable version for about ?100 less)

dan16v
22-06-05, 07:03 PM
im also after a wide band set up, but spose a few other things are more needed at the moment
