wiring in power caps

I know this is prob dead simple but don't wanna spoon it and blow the caps.

battery to power cap power cap to amp earth from amp to power cap then to earth is that right?

the cap fits in the b+ wire (battery) near the amp. the + fits to one pin and then another + goes from this pin to the amp. the other pin is just an earth and can be earthed on its own or with the amp (on its own would be best). You then need to charge the cap, this may just be a case of hooking it up to the + wire and internal circuitry controls the charge, or you may need to use a resistor and test lamp.
