View Full Version : Castle Combr Trackday Footage 11/06/05
For anyone whos intrested - http://www.daxtek.co.uk/
Had a brilliant day at Combe with the Nova, the car went well and took loads of abuse  The rad did start leaking but lasted the whole day, so I can't complain there.
Sorry about the quality but I only have 30mb of web space and wanted all three runs online. Each vid is just under 10mb.
Run 1 has a horrible scraping noise where one of the wheels was slightly catching on a coilover. It sounded ALOT worse than it actually was.
You may want to turn your volume down as well its a bit LOUD!
Cheers

Some fat videos there mate. Always enjoy watchin your videos and your move out the way driving style. And that noise from the wheel and coliover sounds harsh.
Thanks - Yeah it does sound harsh - I couldn't find out where it was coming from and it just started all of a sudden. So I thought let it rub for a while and then look for the marks :)
bet you were well pleased with the sunday drivers there on the first run.
what was the car at the start that kinda diss appeared out of view, looked like an old car, but did it shift?

Just watched 2 of the videos - Looked like you were enjoying yourself :D
Nice to see a nova fight its way to the front - not allowing much to pass !!!
I think your only challenger was a Mk1 Yellow Escort (I think thats what it was) - Seeing him pull away on a couple of staights, I take it he had more slightly power than you - A Pinto would'nt produce the puffs of flames he was producing unless it was seriously tweaked - no doubt he had to resort to Vauxhall power to have a fighting chance against you !!!
I particulary like the use of the grass on a few occasions to get past a few of the cars holding you up !!!!!
Like you said - it's a shame the video quality couldn't have been slightly better - I have a few of your previous track days downloaded which are better quality
Anyway - Well done - Nice to see someone thashing a nova to within an inch of its life
Dave
Thanks
Yeah - I may put just the second video on so that the quality is higher. Or get it hosted somewhere else. I only have limited web-space.
The Mk1 Escort is a car that I built with a mate of mine in my garage (his car). It has a 330bhp cossie lump under the bonnet. So just s few more horses
I was supprised at how well the Nova was keeping with him and also catching in places.
When I update the quality - I will post again. It was sooo much fun, im still smiling now. I got it sideways a few times as well.
dar, i have webspace. msm it over matey and i'll sort it for you
loving how quick your car is, never got passed apart from by the esort.
the red scooby in vid 1 was making good progress wasn't it?? got away at the start then never saw it again.

Awsome Darren ;)
Love the way you throw it full on into the corners!
Bring it on next April
Well done matey
A better version of the 2nd run is here http://dar.rapid-gaming.net/NovaRun2.wmv
Again thanks to Paulwar again :)
I have got myself some better conversion proggies so I will see if I can also up the quality of my hosted versions.
Benji - That red scooby was well quick, he was with us as well. Its pushing about 310bhp apparently but seems faster than that. It flew past the 330bhp GTI-R (Which was his old car :D ). I didn't get to do a fast lap behind him to compare the cars which was a shame.
If the quality of the new version is ok I will do the rest. Please post if you think its ok.

nice drivin m8 i love it ur novas well good by the way id love to have yours but looks like u had a great time what are you useing as a cam to recored the vids :?: :?:
Thanks - I have a Sony DCR-IP7E camera but thats only used as a recorder. I strap a hi-res bullet cam to the roll cage. Im thinking of putting the bullet cam on the roof of the car with a wide angle lens next time.
Not sure if it would come off though.
