take bumper off would be 1st thing

lol

when you say wide mouth I presume you mean cut the lower scoop out of the GSI bumper?

There are various ways you can do this - although personally I wouldnt bother...lol

Main way is to literally just cut the scoop out using a long bladed hack saw - just leave the bottom and sides in place.

Then depending on whether you wish to recess the cut out area back or leave flush, its up to you...if you want to recess the area you will need to rebuild part of it in fibreglass or use plastic and form it by heating with a heat gun to get the shape. you can bond it to the existing bumper using bumper filler (more flexible than normal filler). Fibreglass will attach itself to a rigid area...

If you leave it flush (recessing looks better) - you can mesh it...

if you look carefully at the top and bottom pics the only real bit you ned to rebuild is the sides where the scoop of the bumper was (is).

There's a guide on Topbuzz.co.uk, that might help

i think you should big mouth it, and put some big grill slats in it, so it looks like the grill, that looks good

Yeah, wide mouthing is the way to go but i reckon if you're gonna do a job, do it right. I must try it and get a few pics up.

Dont like the half wide mouth look, looks too STD, i had a GSi bumper i was wide mouthing like the one on Brents minty Nova, got fed up and sold it for e50, wish i didn't bother now.

I dont like the subtle look, nor the Max Power look. I like the "its there cuz it needs to be look". Stripped out bare necessaty look. Must start this bumper. I'll try and get pics up soon.

Haven't managed anything yet. Trying to sort the car out for this weekend. Try cutting straight down on eihter side of the opening in the middle of the bumper, half way down the last or bottom Section of the Bumper. Square it odd and stick two air vents either side, see how thst looks.
