i no this may sound silly and be a stupid question, but as i am going to be using a 1300 head on my 1400 sr, does that mean performance mods such as cam n say spark plugs etc, anything to do with the head, i will have to get the mods for the 1.3 engine?

im a bit confused lol, maybe coz its late :?

in gerneal "its all the same"

the 1.3 head has different shaped inlet ports so if you went for T40's etc youd need to get the 1300 manifold, other than that all other stuff is generic for the 1200-1600 OHC engine.

i know ill get slammed for that lol, but as far as your concerned its true.

only think i can think of thats different is the dizzy drive on the cam, but as long as u keep the 1400 cam u should be alright

and do not waste money on performance spark plugs, just some standard NGK ones of the correct temperature grade and gap will be perfectly fine, same with the leads

cheers guys that clears things up a bit, i was aware the inlets were different but wasnt sure about exhaust ports n that and whether the different heads needed different parts

anyway thanks alot, anyone else wanting to add to this feel free

cheers :)

their are 2 different valves lengths but doesn't apply to carb'd engines as they use same length. Exhaust ports are universal also.

Exhaust ports are universal also.
So all heads have the same shape exhaust ports?

all small block OHC 8v engines have the same exhasut ports yes

Ahh cool.
So you can fit any exhaust manifold to any head as the ports will match up.
