Me & Coxie went had a busy day at the lockup today....

The yellow nova sr, after i started stipping it
we was going to reshell my sri into this, but the shell aint as clean as we thought after stripping it, don't knows whats happening with it now yet....

Found a fiesta front bumper lying about and thought we'd see if it would fit and look ok

with a few mods it should fit fine, think we found a rear bumper for the beast :D

i'd leave standard bumpers on the white nova, impressed with the arches though, i like them, they are different, whats wrong with the yellow shell?

fairly rotten, thought it was more cleaner than what it is, can't really complain though, we got it for free, just gonna just throw the running gear out of my sri into it, and then maybe re-build my white on, but thats on hold for now....

not definaty using that fiesta bumper on it, it was just lying around, so we put it up to the car to see how it fits for a laugh, not a bad fit really, and it does look quiet good in person

If your going to put a fiesta bumper on it? what about the zetec-s bumper?
Not too keen on the arches as i love the shape of nova arches, but fair play for trying something different, looks like a fairly good job aswell matey

not its not definately going to have a fiesta rear bumper, it was just lying aroudn in the lockup so we just held it up against the car

Can't see my old yellow valver shell making it back onto the road ever then by the looks of it. :o I never looked into it that far.

you aint seen it now, cut a big hole of the of side to see how bad the rust was, never know though, me and coxie might bring it back to life again

it can be done most of the shells solid .. but the N/S inner sill i think it is (box secion inside the lower rear quarter) has a drainage hole in it which had been blocked by newspaper ??? why i dont no .. so collected water n shite n basically rotted a huge hole in the section so can replace it with some work .. bother rear quarters are needing replacing anyway so can do it at the same time no wories


front end inner wing on the offside has a large hole in it .. agen its strpped completely so can be repaired .. but almost the whole front panel needs replacing as rust as attacked the light pockets and wings etc etc so alot of replacing on the majority of the front ..

can loof for a nother shell to rebuild the mk1 sr into i suppose .. or we can always have a go at saving somethin ..

have to weight up the costs!

Been up to see it at the unit and collect some stuff, you are bloody lethal with a grinder Coxie, just cutting into the side of the car like you did with yours :cry: Only messing, knew there was a lot of rust in that corner but didn't know about the newspaper (was it a recent paper as it only past MOT 6 months ago lol).

Going to take the sound deadening off the bulkhead to put on my turbo by the way as its mint and my turbo one is all ripped so will change it while the head is off. Was going to buy new but Vaux want ?130 for some sound deadening so will use that one.

Also need my rear springs back soon as noticed they have been taken off the yellow shell.

lol no idea how recent that paper was mate but it did some damage to it ..

we were gonna take that deadenin off anyways no real need for it lol ..

yeah springs are on mine borrowed em while i used mine for other puropses lol .. ball ache .. couldnt fit standard under there n dint have time to take dampers out n stuff so urs slipped under nicely :D ..

yeah had to cut the side open to check how bad it was as we were gonna change the rear quarters anyway i dint really matter :D

dunno wat to do with it yet now tho .. hows the turbo comin along anyway fella ??? any progress

Might remove that deadening tonight then, going to cut it near the rack so will fit that much of it to the turbo and then you won't see the join as otherwise have to remove the whole engine. The one in the turbo is a right mess and really annoys me lol.

No progress as yet, waiting for new oil pump at the moment and still need to decide exactly what i'm doing with it. Downpipe snapped on the GSi on the way to PV so had to get a new one last night so got to fit that tonight, bloody cars do my head in!!

Don't have to take the engine out to rebuild it so i'm not, leaving the box and the block in so just going to fit the new sound deadening up to the steering rack I reckon.

GSi is running right, just that the downpipe had loads of holes rusted in it and about 30 miles after you heard it it snapped in half, nothing wrong with the engine.

majority of the XE stuff for yas on the table up top aswell .. theres a inlet and the loom in the back of my car and some other lil bits there .. can take it all wen ya ready mate ..

Trust it to be when the engines coming out in a few weeks as well, sods law, you have a nice shiny new ?40 downpipe on it now anyway then. :wink:

That loom might as well go in the bin for what its worth but the rest of it is all good!! Will move it with all my other XE stuff, 3 XE's in pieces is all I own in the unit now lol.

You'd think so but as soon as I build them up I seem to kill them so planning on building up a decent spare lol.

Exams start next week, dreading it but will soon all be over!!
