1.6 Cavilier Carb into 1.2 Nova Merit

I got a free 1.6 cavi engine i need to know how i put it in and sort the wiring. Also i need to know what driveshafts i could use? This cavi has an ecu, my hatch doesnt...what do i do there? As you may have guessed...yes i am clueless! Its my first conversion! Help!!

the 1.6 cav engine is a slow one, the same power as the 1.4sri and you have to pay more tax etc. I'd suggest finding a GTE/GSi 1.6.

I thought the cav injection engine was the same as the novas? Its the carb one thats crap? I'm probably wrong tho :lol:

So is it carb or injection?

If it's carb then yes they're slow and aren't they also a big block engine??
Not sure what the injection one looks like, but i would imagine if it looks like its a carb but it has an ecu then it's probably spi (single point injection-rather than the multi point injection as fitted to gte's and gsi's) so not the same as Nova's.

You'll need an injection fuel pump, but i'm not sure about the ecu wiring-could be fun lol.
