Recorded Signed For? items are only tracked after the item has been delivered.

Its for the sender, so they know when the parcel has been delivered.

I remember this kinda thing from when I used to work for a mail order company. Recorded delivery is just that, all they do is record the fact its been delivered.... so if it gets lost/kicked/burned/eaten by the dog RM don't a) tell you and b) care lol

Special Delivery is properly tracked I think, as are Parcel Force parcels - had one parcel coming from Sherborne (literally 5 miles down the road) go to Bristol> London > Manchester > Glasgow > Bristol > Taunton > Bournemouth (?!) > My house.... and even then I wasn't at home to collect it so had to pick it up from my local post office
