Alright,,, When I 1st put my sub and amp in my boot, it sounded fine, after a few months of listening, the sub started sounding funny, as in blown, farting, and a rumbling style noise not bass, assumed my sub was blown untill i tried it on a friends amp today and it sounded spot on again, therefor can only be the amp right? what could cause the amp to start doing this seeing as it worked before?? blown amp? cures??

Any help would be appreciated

have u changed anything?

could be that your amp is on the way out, on the otherhand i could be that the amp is not grounding properly. or that your picking up interference from the power cables.

let me know your set up and we'll see what we can do

easiest one if you can do it is swap the amp into another car and see waht it does there. another thing to try is to see what voltage is flowing down the earth with a multimeter. something may have knoked it in the boot and caused it to not ground proplerly, happened to a mate the other week.

Might be worth checking the RCA cables too, from the back of the HU to the amp.

Amps usually have circuit/fuse protection in them so if they're gonna over heat or over power, the fuse pops guarding the amp... If you can, try a different sub and/or amp to see if you get the same effect
