Just got a headunit and a pioneer sub off a mate.Hooked the sub straiht upto the hu by extending the standard rear speaker wires(untill i can afford a decent amp). can i damage anything by using it as it is? cheers

you will probably nacker the head unit mate, not the best idea to run it straight off that.if i was you i would just wait until you've got an amp incase you will have to go and spend more money on another head unit when youve blown that 1 up.
rick :D
ok so what is the cheapest amp that will power my sub?its 400w rms
on a really tight budget at the moment. cheers
check ebay for a cheep 400w amp theres always bargins to be had on there
you will probably nacker the head unit mate
I'd have thought it'd be more likely to knacker the sub? As the HU is pushing out a full range of frequencies to a speaker that is only designed to handle low frequencies...

what make and model is the head unit?
two of my head units are designed to be able to run a sub directly from them.
if your head unit doesnt have this function, a cheap amp isnt going to break the bank.
If you want a new amp you might want to have a look on these sites...
