Go on, convince me. I'm stripping out the whole interior and leaving it that way. Should i get some sort of sterio or just leave it bare? Or is there a quick fit/release option?

sterio! get one and never ask such an absurd question again!!! you need loud music to enjoy a long ride.

to prove it go on a drive with no music then do the same drive with music and see which you enjoyed more! then go get a sterio and start an ice install!

Mate, my car makes enough noise without a sterio. Kinda going for a Stripped out race theme and that includes all the sound deading and even the door cards and carpets. Take a look at my PROFILE to see.

if you want the stripped out racer look you shouldnt be posting here hehe.

you could always just make a false floor and make one other false floor but have it raised about 4 inches and hide amps under that one! then you can fit 6x9's in the space between the 2 floors and hey presto a stealth install in a racer style car!

magic

I would have either one or the other.
Either fully stripped out.
Or ICE.

Yeah, am still debating. Thinking no ICE for everyday use and ICE for Cruising about. Wont be hard to stick in a Sterio and a few speakers. Just Plug and Play sorta thing!!

Mines stripped out and trust it is boring without music beyond belief

It depends what you want really. The choices are a headunit and speakers or a sub and amp. If i was going for the stripped out look id have a cd player and have the speakers in the dash and sum components in the doors. And maybe have a 10" sub in the spare wheel well.

and a tart in the passanger seat for added entertainment

walkmen and head phones or upgrade your walkmen to host speakers :D :D

The tart thing wouldn't work as i've bucket seats and me bum would get cold in the back. Was thinking about making a sub box, to host a sub, amp a pair or two of 6x9's and my multi changer, have it all wired so it could be disconnected easily so if i did wanna go racing i could just lift it out, it'd be a big box though.

don't box your 6x9's. as their free air and it'ss stress the coils. good idea in principal. look at maplins site for fittings to make oving it easier, like scoop handles and corner protectors to keep it in one piece for shifting it.

also speakon and powercon connectors from nutrix (also from maplins) would help with the wiring and moving it.

why not just use light weight sub in fibre box. two small midi's in front and no 10 disc changer

my opinions are
1 buy another nova for ice
2 go for entertainment factor over racing
i always do ive never not had a car with out somesort of system in it
i get loads of ideas for installs and usually change them and swap them round ect

I didn't want any ice to start with, but now i do after having to do with 2 5" speakers for my ICE over the last week.

But theres a slight problem, i built a double 12" sub box when i had my astra, and the box is kinda bigger than the whole nova boot

I need the backseats at the min :(
its jigsaw time me thinks :P
I may just put 1 12" in, not sure yet.

it will be worth making a compact one thought just to save boot space

If you are going for stripped out and performance, which i think you are going by your spec of your feature, then keep ICE to a minimum as it adds weight!

2x12" subs fits perfectly in the boot of a nova. Just trim the box down abit and they'll fit perfectly.

The thing is if you go to light the back will try to spin out round corners

Getting the back out is good, but surely the car would be stable enough, especially with the right modifications like a rear strut to hold it tight.

Unless you are really stupid behind the wheel i cant see it making that much difference

you would be suprise you only have a palm sized piece of tyre on the road at anyone time the more weight through them the better

I know, but can it really be that bad? I mean what are all the rally and touring cars like.

Apart from the fact they have top class driver in them

You've answered your own question lol

Rally cars use different tyres/wheels for different conditions though, few (if any) of which would really be suitable for road driving

I know i was just using that as an example (and a bad one at that lol) but there has to be limits as to when a car will be dangerously underweight?

STE Novavanman

Rear wheel drive cars will always go round corners better cause you have the weight over the back already allowing for a near to 50/50 weight spread and when you take the weight out the back of a nova your probably looking at 80/20 weight transfer.
