how much work will my nova need to fit a set of 17's with an offset of 40 on??

depends on the J (width)
has your car been lowered
have you had any arch work? (rolled)

not as yet for either of the things. i will get the arches rolled when it goes in the body shop

40 means sticking out more (5mm) so you'll need to do some arch work - defo roll em or grind back to lip and reseal.
