View Full Version : Suspension
Hi,
I have a Nova 1.4 SR Mk2, and currently competing in Autocross. Every one is saying my suspension is to soft and it wallows in the corners, etc. What is the stiffest suspension i can get with out getting expensive. Most people say the Diesel Nova/Corsa should do the trick.
Any help would be great,
thanks
Michael
It depends what you call expensive.
Coilovers would be your best option, but they are expensive, bout ?500.
How much do you have to spend?
I have very little to spend thats why i was hoping a set of diesel or similar struts would do. I'm only in class 1 (virtually no mods) so pointless spending ?100's just yet.
Will diesel struts be much stiffer than standard SR's?

diesel or gte/gsi springs will be a bit stronger
and if your running standard suspension an ARB might help
its already got an anti-roll bar, so thats ok (im assuming thats what ARB was for?)
what would be the best diesel or gte/gsi springs?
Sorry my mechanical skills are still growing :)
Cheers for helps so far

diesel ones are prolly a bit stiffer
You could probably just get away with some stiffer front springs. My autograss car ran some cut down volvo springs and it went pretty well on standard struts. On the back I had adjustable spax dampers. The overall set up meant the rear was jacked up higher than the front which helped getting off the start line which in autograss is a big help.
