Righty ho...
Some of you if not all may think this is madness - but still...
I have a spare cd head unit (or rather i will have quite soon) and as i have no radio in my office at work i am gonna build a box to house the head unit and maybe a 6x9 in there too.
Question is, how can i power it from the mains under my desk ??
the name is misleading - because i am not called wisewood.
get a transformer to 12V and make a power supply with full rectification and then wire it all to the headunit
Im a Corporate tart :D

you need full wave rectificaton. this converts the power supply to DC from AC simple thiing to do using 4 diodes. basically so which ever way the ac current is flowing, by using the diodes the current will only flow one way.

just go into an electronics shop and they will be able to sort it out. just tell em you need full wave-rectum-satisfaction like ben and cambo says.

the email system at work takes ages to show you emails from an external source - will check it as soon as it gets around to letting me see the mail you sent. probably a week on tuesday. lol
