because its baxter and he's abnormal?

Mk2 dash isn't too hard a job to fit. There's a guide i believe on Nova-Land

All you really need is the dash itself with the top cowling. You can either nick some of the screws from the old Mk1 to fit it, or use any similar sized ones lying about. You'll also need the vent ducts if you want air routed to the vents properly - bear in mind I found my Mk1 saloon had no capacity for fitting the ducts that go to the side vents on the Mk2 dash (as the blower heater matrix thingy wotsit had no cutouts to fit the side ducts), so i just left these as non-functional.

Just make sure its stuck firmly in place once you're done, the last thing you want in an accident is for the dash to have a close liaison with your face

if it's a mark 1 , leave it mark 1

if it's a mark 2 , leave it mark 2

i've got a full GTE interior in my car and it looks ok with the mk2 dash, the mk1 dash was just wedgy and boring

i fitted a black gsi dash in my gte..
took a sunday.. very simple..

had a few problems.. the gsi clocks did'nt match the gte loom..
when i finished i noticed i forgotten to fit the heater matrix :?
radio loom will need extending..
all other loom work is colour coded wiring..

buy your new dash lamps/bulbs.. before you fit the dash..

mine looks good with the full GSi interia..

very bad result = i have alarm.imobiliser and a fob imobiliser..
turn my hazard switch round, the ignition turns on..
this needs to be sorted soon.. alarm and imobilisers are not helping..
