sound problem

i have a kenwwod cd6090r head unit with 4 x 47 inbuilt amp, and infinity 6953i 6x9's 300watt
after a while the sound starts to break up and sometimes stops altogether
i am not sure if it is faulty wiring or maybe underpowering the speakers
any help?

my guess is faulty wiring. i had this happen on my sony MD, it was down to the iso connector to the headunit was loose/out
