Which is more tuneable the sr or sri? Iam only asking because i was looking for a sr to tune but seem to be coming acrosss alot of sri's for sale.

I'd say sri's.
Better head and there mpi.

Money isnt really a problem because it'll be a on going project.
Well, sri's are 10bhp more and the same insurance group as SR.
And newer, so less likely to be rusted.

No i mean which engine is more tuneable? And all novas are rusting now not matter what age you just got to find a clean one. :lol:
sri, the head flows better as STD, its possibly got larger valves. so in all the sri engine is a better base to work from

Well what sort of mods we talkin? And what sort of power can be achived?
if your tuning properly 100bhp per litre shouldnt be too much of a challenge these days. its easier with a 16V head but its still acheivable with an 8V head.
proper head work, i suggest Gary from Mig (since you use it anyway)
a proper cam that has a solid valve train to get nice reliable high revs
rebuilt bottom end. the usual stuff thats in many many guides

sri also has stronger gsi chassis, gsi suspension and gsi brakes as standard
