i getting a set of Alpine SPR-135a components which will be mounted in custom door pods, however i was considering also buying a good set of 4" to fit where the origional factory speakers where, it this needed or will the components be enough???

Upfront or rear for the 4"? If upfront, don't bother, position the components well, and you'll get pretty good imaging. Stick the 4"'s on aswell, and your imaging will go to pot. If there for rear fill, have a high pass filter on them, and run them quietly. Although personally, I don't like rear fill.

Do'h, that should read, if they're for rear fill, stick a low pass filter on them...

Don't give them any bass either, cause they'll just distort and sound naff... Stick with the components in door pods!

cheers mate i have the back sorted just needed to know about the front,

cant wait to get the system finish'd now it should be sweet here's my ice spec sheet

Pioneer DEHP7300R (4x50w)
2x 10" DB Audio T-Rex subs (1600w)
Alpine SPR-135A components (160w)
MB Quart DKC-169 6x9" (in the rear quarters)(140w)
Alpine V12 MRV-1507 (2x450w or 1x1500w)

i'm gonna run the 6x9" and the components off the headunit and the subs off the amp, should br enough to rattle my teeth out :O
