i think my head gasket has gone ! it dosent tick over very well and seems down in power! when i got home from work last night it had used a lot of water and oil ! it never burns oil and its never been bad on water apart from the odd top up! i took off the rocker cover and there was no sludge in there but there was i little on the header cap about the size of a five pence peice ! could some one comfirm this is my porb or give a answer to the prob ?

if its using a lot of water chances are its the head gasket also is the temperature rising more than normal
i had mine tested when mine was on the way out involved liquid changing colour cant think of the name of the test though sorry

Do you do lots of short journeys?
As that can lead to a build up of condensation inside the engine.

But if you are sure it seems to be running odd, and using water and oil, then its most likely the headgasket.

im going to drop it off tonight and should get it back tue or wed with some luck ! " dont tell phil but ive borrowed a saxo for a couple of days" :oops:
