alright

i've got an original nova cig lighter socket to bung in my mk2, i know that i need to run it to fuse 18, earth and a sidelight switched live, i was thinking of putting it on 17 amp cable, is this ok?

also i was thinking of using snap connctors (halfrauds et all) to wire it in to save chopping through the original wiring as i'm at uni at the min and could do without any added hastles, good / bad idea?

cheers

erm just run it from your dash, a live and neg.

I'm 100% sure the Cig lighter wiring just comes from the dash loom (all lights/clocks/e.t.c) and this is all fused through the fusebox on a 10/15A fuse IIRC

some 17A wiring should be absolutly fine.

cheers for the nfo :D

i got it free earler only to discover that it was too short, fortunalty the guy i got the lighter from chopped his loom so used that to make an extension with some 17A and male spade ends

lol it was prolly just stuck round something

the loom fits when it was made so it cant have just shrunk :p

pass on that one, got it right back to the point that it branches from the loom and still not long enough! :o
just plain weird
