I'm assuming you know to modify the baffle plate to clear the heads of the bolts !!! - Otherwise when started you'll get a loud tapping noise from the sump area !!!!!!!! :o

Dave i have never done that on any of my LETS or XE's with arp's fitted and all have been fine. I know some have knocked though.

I know of a few people who have not done this mod and after all the hastle of refitting the sump/manifold/new oil etc - upon startup sounded like a machine gun going off - upon investigation it has been found that the heads of 1 or 2 of the big end bolts catch the small folded up lips on the baffle plate !!!
So as a precaution I always have modified the baffle plate to clear these bolt heads - and do a dummy build (with grease on the bolt heads to check clearance) before finally nailing it all back together !!!!
It may be that the bolt heads nowadays are modified to cure this problem - I can only comment on the engine/bolts that I've fettled with.
I know what it feels like to have to do the whole job again !!!

Regards the baffle plate, no it hasnt been modified, I had no idea that it might do, I am going to take the risk and hope it is fine, if not then will whip the sump off and carry out required modifications
