Well today the nova lost just over a stone and a halth in 2hrs.. :D

There is no way i could loose that much in 2hrs but the car did, work out at 1.06 st 9.6kg...

Found out why i had a nice mouldy damp smell like wet nickers!

Also found this nasty bit of rot hiding up behind the dash

Now back to the wight loss plan..

Also found this repair weld i didnt know was there..

http://img271.echo.cx/img271/1748/picture7669ha.jpg (http://www.imageshack.us)

It flew off with the hot air gun..
http://img271.echo.cx/img271/2007/picture7671fc.jpg (http://www.imageshack.us)

The rear seat part came off with hardly any help of the heat gun,and in three big chunks.

All gone!
http://img283.echo.cx/img283/235/picture7744py.jpg (http://www.imageshack.us)

Was a bit messy, the main thing i lernt was dont get it too hot,as it can burn your skin

Well i was shoked though just how heavy it all came to,with the red,tar style matting and sound deadning it all added to..

9.6kg dont sound like a lot but it all adds up,not a bad few hrs work :)

the Mk1 dash weighs 10Kg (fairly bare)
heater matrix is another 10Kg + 1Kg for water
there is 2Kg in seat mounts to removed

loads more to get out of that you fat get lol

get a 6 year old to drive it they weigh about 3/4 stone

that way it'll be plenty less!

my sound deadening is much thicker than that! and it covers alot more area too!

Good work mate. I often wondered how to get that stuff out. Any disadvantages to it though?

With regards to the rust, my old dad used to say, "Fock rust, fock the bast4rding stuff, its focking focking sh1t, the focking stupid focking thing i focking hate it!!!" And he was right. He's getting help now...... :D

I'd say loads but then it depends on how good all the seals are on your car anyway!

Noisey, eh? Would suit my Rally theme well then so!! I've got 2 chequer plates, 2 Recaro Bucket Seats and 4 points, a steering wheel, hand brake and a gear lever and thats it. Its a mental sound when you cross loose gravel and hear it rattling off the floor!! :D

Yet to get time (and it keeps raining) to fit the seats back in,im not fused about noise as its not my everyday car, plus with my TB's going in i think i wont hear much els

Got mine out, really easily too thanks to a huge built up of condensation. Under the rear seats and the boot to do now. He he, might chance a bag of chips tonight after loosing that much weight today.

Theres a little plastic pin you push out then the whole plastic thing slides off.

I still managed to break them tho lol
