if u fit the carb u wont pass an MOT

what you would benefit from is fitting a cam from an SR or GTE nova and also getting a decat

as for lowering try migweb

How come mate???
I was gonna do this with mine a while back, fit a 1400sr head, inlet and carb. I guess summit do with emissions.

croagy-First of all, i wouldn't lower a mk3 60mm, it will handle crap, and put extra strain on cvs and wheel bearings.
I would do 40mm max.
40mm, with 17s and an offset of around 45mm you might be fine. Obviously the closer you can get to et49, the better.

Fitting a de-cat to a 1994 engine may cause you to fail the emissions test at MOT time, unless you swap the cat back on for the MOT.
I can't really seeing a de-cat altering the performance that much either, with it only being 60bhp, you won't see a massive gain in performance. Maybe a few bhp.

a carb wont keep the emissions tight enough to run a cat safely mate

it'll overheat and die

so u cant run a cat and therefore cant pass mot

if your gonna decat an L reg keep the cat for MOT time

Yeah thats what i thought the problem would be.
My mk3 is Jreg tho so it don't need a CAT  8)
its too much work me to bother tho swapping it from injection to carb, and won't give a massive power increase.

Ive had a few Mk3 astras and have slammed them all, if you add a set of gas shocks to a 60mm drop then youll have a real dream handling car...

Pic of my curent astra, 1.7ts sport, 18 inch wheels and lowered 80mm
