SR GREY STRIP

hi

right, you all know the strip that goes along the lower bit of the door, on both sides, well, on mine one side is grey (the original) and the other is black (matt paint)

well, i want it so the other side is black too, or do you think that matt black is gay ?

least itll be different

anyway, the reason why it is, is because i got it form a garage under th condition that they fixed some rust, and some was on the passenger door, so... they must of taken off the strip, fixed the rust, and resprayed it closest match (gay matt black caus they are muppets)

so tell us what u think, and how much u reckon it would cost to do

i rang my vauxhall garage to price the genuine vinyl, they quoted me approx ?25 + vat for the door piece, and for a complete side (3 pieces) it was approx ?65 + vat. Why not just remove the other side and get both sides resprayed in grey (i believe you can buy a paint which is the same colour as the stick on strip)I know a professional body sprayer who said its better just to spray the bottoms as it is cheaper and also it is easier to treat any further rust, should you encounter any more. He also reckons the stick on strips can be a bit of a pig to fit correctly, also if not done correctly the water can get behide it which causes it to come off.

i think ill just get the other side sprayed black too, will the original strip have to come off though ?

how about u spray it the same colour as the car so u have no black even better!!!

I agree with Rob25 I've had my Vinyl removed from both sides of my SR's doors and resprayed the same colour as my car. Get it done, it cost me ?150 plus I had my Doors de-locked and now it looks the dogs bollocks!
