Anybody watch 5th Gear last night on C5?

Hands up all those who won't be buying old civics, lest they be T-boned by 4x4s.... :lol:

They were doing a piece about "unequal" crashes, where a taller car crashes into a small car. The theory was that because the taller car has higher hard points on it, it tends to ride up and over the smaller car and mince it nicely!

They showed a 4x4 doing 60 smacking into the side of a civic saloon travelling at 30... although the 4x4 rolled over, it survived quite well - but there wasn't much left of the civic, the bonnet of the 4x4 almost touched the inside of the door on the opposite side! :o

I saw it and came to the conclusion that :
a) roll cages should be in every car made
b) 4x4s should be baned form the roads except for farmers, who must always have at least one animal in the back at all times when the vehicle is moving.
c) Burgo is a spunk

Before you all start saying "I'm never getting in one of those" I can't think of many cars that will withstand being hit from the side at 60mph by a 4x4?

The one thing everyone should learn from this is to be more vigilant on the road.
