View Full Version : jbl sub
Hi has any one got a JBL GT4-10? thinking of buying one sometime next week. Good or not? If not can anyone suggest another 10" sub for the same money? I mostly listen to hip-hop. Also can anyone reccomend a decent cheap amp to power the 10" and pair infinity 6x9s. how many channels would i need?
thanks,
lauri
They're good for the money! I paid 30 quid each for mine last may, dunno if they still are that cheap though.
You're probably gonna need a 4 channel amp (2 bridged for the sub and 1 each for the speakers) and anyhting 1000watts+ should do you

duno what splx it is it's a green one i don't think they make them specific ones now, its' a 12" running from a mutant x 2 channel amp,
off of the head units i've got two apline 6x9's which originaly sounded bad but i've altered the settings on my head units and they sound much better,
and two kenwoods and 2 pioneers in the front that have had the front output split amongst them split,
should probably have got all speakers the made by the same people really.... oh well
I've got no probs with the sound it's really crisp n i like it! lol!

i don't know where on earth you got that information from ? have you ever owned a JBL sub.
They are fantastic subs for the money, really punchy and basses, and durable too.
oh and audiobahn.. lol, you can get subs for alot cheaper that are essentially the same (made in the same factory) i think it could be Lightning Audio, but am not 100% sure, i'l check it out.
?70 a sub for audiobahn aint a bid price imo altho thats on its own no box
the JBL g4-10's are the same as JBL run in their EON series of pa eqip, can't fault them. in my humble opinion the best sound reinforcement in the sub 2.5k power range, sounds nice in the boot too
I HAD 2x12" JBL GT-40'S IN A DOUBLE SEALED BOX(?50 EACH MOTORWORLD) AND RAN THEM ON A 1000 WATT SPLX AMP (?129)THEY LOOK GOOD, CROME CASE, WHICH POWERED THEM FINE PROBLY COULD HAVE PUT MORE POWER THROUGH THEM BUT THEY ROCKED MY CORSA TO BITS, PUT STUFF ON THE ROOF AN IT WILL RATTLE OFF!!! GO FOR THAT SET-UP ITS A WINNER, I TOOK IT TO KROOZIN LIVE LAST YEAR AND SOMEONE SAID IT WAS PUSHIN 140db EASY!!! ALL I CAN SAY IS IM GETTIN 2x15"s THIS TIME...WINNER WINNER
