Just a quick question, how would a standard GTE stand up against one of those fairly new Fiesta Zetec or Zetec-s ? Not the newest one but the one before !!!!
Cheers
am i right in thinkin the zetec-s ur on about is the 1.25 zetec .. there rather nippy and are gud for there engine size but even so a gte etc shud clear em off rather well

i think it would be ok off the lights as the nova should have better torque but the festa might have more top end ! just put a valver in it and dont tell anyone that will show them !

pmsl, if your on about the 1.25 zetec you need slapping. They are utter shit, i had one for a week an broke it. Speed wise a 1.2 corsa would be laughing at it. Also the new 2lt one probably wouldnt put a good fight with a GTE, i was looking at the spec for it an its very depressing for the power it has.

what nick means is that you also so wont be paying 2lt tax therefor you will be abusing the trees without paying the price. A serious offense in the tree huggers world

thanks phil for a minute i thought he called me a **** ! which isint very nice as if he had just asked if that was what i ment i would of said i ment dont tell anyone round town and let them find out for themselves off the lights !! and before some of us get all moral on me when i say off lights i mean on the track not on the road!!
lol i did...
there's no-one worse than idiots who convert and don't pay the proper insurance, tax i couldn't really care about.

it was more of a slap than a hug, nothing sensual about the way i touched that post unlike your trees its a stroking hugging motion
nah
sorry it's just full of pathetic chavs, there's much more constructive things to be done rather than go to "cruises" not my scene.
I know some Decent cars from the kendal area, may be there, so have fun.
where bouts you from ?

it'l be full of people with scoobies on farm insurance.
The 1.25 fiesta is crap, a 1300/1400SR would put up a good fight with that.
But the fiesta is bout 75bhp, and that ain't bad for a 1.2
The 1.6 ain't bad tho, bought 100ish bhp IIRC, would be a good challenge against a gte, but nova is lighter.
I would still go for the nova gte, easily

when i said about the fiesta i meant the sporty one with those alloys and bodykit i think it might be a 1.6 ! the one that people with no taste in choosing cars buy and drive around thinkin they go fast !
Thanks for the replys so far !!!!
the 1.25 zetec...
i made a mate of mine push it up to near the rev limiter and it threw a rod. New block cost about 1.2k from ford.
However it's pretty nippy and quick for what it is, i'm impressed with it. But turning the Air-con on makes it loose power big time lol
Oooo Nick, you racing chav, you
i was in the passenger seat, he'd never taken it over about 4k, plus it was setting out onto a mainroad which was a 60.
it was only a suggestion lol
your talking about the fiesta zetec s. it's a 1.6 16v and has around 105 bhp. although i think they weight slightly more than a gte. i'm sure if you ask the gte owners on here they will all say the nova is quicker and if you go on a fiesta website and ask they will say the ZS is quicker.

Yeah, i thought it was around 100ish bhp, so slightly higher bhp than the gte.
It would be a very close race, nova probably have it off the line, but who knows for top end speed.
ive driven both the zetec s and the gte and are pretty evnly matched altho
the zetec s did seem quite quick
me old man has the zetec s and he puts his foot down sometimes lol just need to seem him out when am in the golf

right ive just looked up the 0-60 times for the new fiesta 2lt 16v with 150bhp. It does it in mid 8 seconds which is very shit for what you would expect it to be.

when mine was a Gsi it used to kill Zetec s's so a 1.25 hasnt got a chance!
