guaging intrest Dta style stuff

Im considering making up a few DTA compatable (for legal reasons) dyno control boxes and some data cables

also there will be some MBE data cables made up

the dyno boxes are to enable easier adjustment of fueling and ign timing for when your being bounced around on rollers or on the road.

For those who care a DTA dyno box from them direct is approx ?200 + vat. ill be after approx ?50ish, the calbes will be ?20 for dta and ?25 for the MBE

I thought that the MBE cable was just normal seiral cable. I have a MBE 967EF and connect it up to my laptop with the easimap software installed all the time.

Don't you also need the passwords for the Easimap software before you can make any changes?

No idea, i havent done anything with it yet. Just beefed my motor up and will need to make some adjustments in the next few days...

I have just made my cable up for MBE 967 and as we thought before Dar its not a std serial cable, it has resistors in it!!

I have a document of the pin outs at home, Im sure i got if off SBD web page. Have a look Will.

Thats the pin out I used. Its easy to make them up with the correct gear. I made mine abit too short but it works, can get the laptop on my knees in passenger seat.

And if Stu is making them up then get one from him. Dont want to take money off him.

how long would the lead "want" to be?

dont want it too long so your swamped in cable, but not so short that you have to merge the laptop into the ecu lmao.

1.5M be enough? or would 2m be better?

Lol it depends where you are puting the ecu?? I have mine in the glove box and the laptop goes under it perfectly. And my lead is about 500 - 700 mm!!

and ill knock up 10 DTA leads too. but the dyno boxes will have to be properly justified lol
