can i put on a new head onto my nova or am i best just going and getting a whole new engine.
I think there is some major probs with the whole thing its blowing very black smoke all the time no matter what you do diff fuel new oil washed out the distributer and dryed it.
none of it seems to make it run any better or make the smoke go away
is any body els experianced this so i can fix it?

either piston rings or valve stem seals. The latter being easier to fix.

its a perfect excuse for a big rebuild. get a 1.3sr and 1600 cam innit.
is it true that a 1200 block and pistons wiv a 1300 crank and head wiv a 1600 cam would go like feck? a bloke in work reckons his mate rallied one like that

theres no real point using the 1200 pistons and 1300 crank to get 1400cc when u can just go out and buy a 1400cc engine in the first place

and the 1400sr cam has more duration and more valve lift than the 1600 one

so u may as well just buy a complete 1400 engine

black smoke is too much fuel tho

the 1200 pistons and 1300 crank will give you deck heights that are about 3mm down the block!!

dont do it unless you want to go slow.
