ive got a 1.3 with sport twin 40 carbs, the oil breather isnt connected to the carbs. theres quite a lot of smoke and oil coming out of the pipe, ive got a coke can stuck on the end and it fills up in a month or two, is that normal? :?

how do you mean its not connected to the carb's?

Do you mean the big pipe that used to go into the old airbox? Coming from the crankcase breather on the back of the engine?

Just point it downhill. If it needs more oil every month just top it up.

If you ever have the head off try taking the breather off and clenaing it with some parrafin or similar.

Might do the trick, its a bugger to get off with the head on, can be done a bit easier by taking starter motor off.

it should be connected to the carbs as it burns off crankcase emissions, but if it chucks out a load of oil there,s something wrong e.g piston rings or valve guides worn. :|

why would you want to put dirty oily air through your carb's? Just leave it pointing down out the way.
Unless your a tree hugger who thinks it will kill rabbits in their sleep, don't worry.

330ml's in 2 months isnt really a lot of oil

CP's 1400 16v could put out that much in one track session and there was nothing wrong with it lol (revving to 8k does have some sideeffects)
