View Full Version : It's party time - who has your vote (serious topic warning)
So then who will you be voting for?
We have:
Labour - Getting a lot of stick about Iraq. I beleive that we were right to go in though, it doesn't matter about what reason was given. Apart from that things will stay status quo. Actually they wont. Gordan Brown will take over within a coupe of months if they win. I like blair, but not brown. Not idea why lol.
Lib dem - A scottish man as PM? don't scotland have their own parliment? TBH not heard a good thing from this bloke. Wants to never lock up female shoplifters (does this mean male ones will be locked up? sexism anyone...). Also wants to tax a lot more. Steals ideas from other parties. (you can tell i dont like this lot). Big tax on 4x4s (they got something right!)
Tories: An old man as PM. (remember though churchill was older when he was in!). Liverpool supporter. Similar to labour in most of their policies. Like to really lay into tony blair when they should be concerntrating on their campain.
BNP - Need i comment lol
The comunist party - We too could one day aspire to become north Korea
Kilroys party (no idea on name) - Vote for the silver fox. Like the BNP lol.
Burgo party - If NL raises enough money (about 3K IIRC) we can register the burgo party and run in the election ourself.
What is everyones views and who are you going to vote for? I am still undecided.

i really dont know who im going to vote for this time all of them have their bad points. To be honest the only one i would feel happy voting fr would be the burgo party. Surely it would be to late to start a new party?
if i was actually registered to vote (forgot to fill in the form to get a delay in council tax lmao)
id seriously consider voting BNP If only to scare the rest of the govt how mnay votes these people get. most of their policies are good jsut some are a little "extreme" lol
Plyd Cymreg is a good call if your in wales! they really do mean to have a go at what they say.
/\/\but im not lol
I'm hoping for a hung parliment tbh. Would be the best thing
I'm going to be selfish and vote for Lib Dems, as they offer the best promises for university fee's + Finance ( i think)
The BNP LOL, one of the MP's was being interviewed about their "racist" past on the tv. And he was wearing a badge saying "don't unpack, your going back"
Then the interviewer announced that he was also the owner of a website Dealing in all kinda of Nazi memrobilia...
Hmmmm suspicious, however i do believe on their policies about stopping people from coming into the UK willy nilly.
However, i think the law they'd like to pass about every home being able to buy and own an assault rifle is a tad extreme !
And... no phil, i am not voting green
are they even running? not heard about them for ages!
Lib dems have put me right off. They are pretty much the only ones i wouldn't vote for lol

lol some labour guy came round the other day trying get us to vote for them, all i can say his is face was bruised when the door hit his face.
i understand, not quite as extreme in the tree department as you would have liked.
i would vote for BNP if they promised to count tree's as people.
Conservative every time!
Although I want Labour to get another term so Crash Gordon's 'economic miracle' will collapse with the Red Roses still at the helm making Labour unelectable for a couple of decades. As is always the case
Fester calls a recession 2010-2012
im not even goin to bother voting really as imo there all waste's of space
although the burgo party sounds good will have to have it runing by next election
Lib dem - A scottish man as PM? don't scotland have their own parliment?
Tony Blair was born in Scotland I believe.
TBH I'll probably go labour again, I also agree with the Iraq war and think that having Saddam in prison and not in power can only be a good thing, and Iraq now has it's own goverment that the Iraqi public voted for - which is a good thing - so for that alone the Iraq war was, in my opinon, justified.
If this vote was 60 years ago and it was a few months after Adolf Hilter was killed would Churchill have a problem getting back in office? I don't think so, and to be honest this is just a modern day version of that, but 60 years ago you didn't have people sticking their noses into everyone else's buisness like they do now, but that's a different story.
Labour for me I think - if I can't be bothered to vote, which I probably won't!!
/\ born, but not of that nationality. In an england V scotland football match he even admits he supports england lol.
I have nothing against the scottish, its just if they can have their own parliment they should not involve themsevels with ours and visa versa. It would be uproar if a london born and bred MP got into the scotish parliment

Labour for me i thinks i'm swaying towards them, last time conservative were in everyone went into negative equity by 15 and all that shit.
I'm hope gordony browns plans crash to actually that way house prices will drop dramaticly and i'll be able to afford a nice lil house, i can just about afford about 2sq foot around my area at the mo.
Other than that i think blair was right to go to war fuck it bomb saddam!!
Thas my bits worth!
I'm with Alex on Labour... every time i've seen the lib dems they just seem a bit limp... and I'm split on the Tories; one one had I kinda blame them for facknig things up when they were in power previously, and I can't stand Michael Howard (as much as people have a go at Tony Blair he is a good statesman), and the fact their entire campign seems to be against Blair... however I do like the anti-Europe stance, although I'm not sure I trust them on this
Would be amusing if lots of people did vote BNP
Are UKIP running?
If anyone wants a change in government but can't be bothered/ isn't serious about voting, you should just vote for one the tiny parties or independants, one more vote for them is one less for the big guns
I also agree with the Iraq war and think that having Saddam in prison and not in power can only be a good thing, and Iraq now has it's own goverment that the Iraqi public voted for - which is a good thing - so for that alone the Iraq war was, in my opinon, justified.
Exactly. Heard a soundbite of Mr Blair on radio this morning from a question time they had with all three main party leaders, suprise suprise the main line of questioning seemed to be about whether or not it was right to go into Iraq. He seemed a little bit annoyed at the constant questioning over it - fair enough, everywhere he goes thats all people seem to focus on, so if I was him I'd be bored of if too - but his comeback was along the lines of 'if we hadn't gone into Iraq and removed Saddam, he would still be there torturing and killing the people, but there would be no TV cameras highlighting the fact. Go ask the Iraqi people if we were right to remove him, not us.'
If this vote was 60 years ago and it was a few months after Adolf Hilter was killed would Churchill have a problem getting back in office? I don't think so
Hmm... didn't Churchill get voted out after the war? I thought he was a good wartime leader but crap with domestics
hmm, apparently because I work for the government (MOD) I'm not supposed to have a political standing or comment on political actions. Oh well
I'm with Alex on Labour...
I'm not sure I'm with them. I'm still undecided

Sorry, I meant I agree with your point of view on them
The Iraq issue isn't actually if the country is 'better', it's the legal legitimacy of the invasion and occupation; because these elements are weak at best they are concentrating on that fact that 'democracy' has been deployed, which it has, and that the place is better, which it is, but that isn't the Iraq-issue, it's a pseudo-cover for the issue of whether the move is above board or not i.e. the posession of WMD and the capability to have threatening weapons mobilised in "45 minutes" - neither true.
There are plenty of regimes that are 'bad' but they won't be deposed by us as the legal standing of going round randomly removing regimes is well, non-existent.

undecided so don't think i'll be voting
i would never waste my vote by not voting it took long enough for the comon man to get the vote to start with but thats my view
Think of all the tree's that were destroyed during the war on iraq - That Makes it un-justified in itself

i thought you'd be more concerened with the number of trees cut down for party posters\leaflets ect not to mention the actual ballot paper
:o i never thought of that...
i'm gonna write my vote on some slate !
true flintstones styleeeee

Exactly.... I can't be doing with people who don't vote, IMO if you don't vote then you can't complain about the elected party, end of.
i'm gonna write my vote on some slate !
Isn't slate derived from million year old decomposed trees? Or am i thinking of coal etc lol

Well i was very dissappointed that Fox Hunting was banned under Tony's rule so in my opinion its bye bye Blair. Also there was that petrol crisis rubbish that he delt with in the worst possible way.
As a keen fisherman i reckon its only a matter of time before the anti's turn there attention to try and ban pleasure fishing.
I would probably vote Conservative as they would also keep England away from the EURO.
However, my dad has kindly removed me from the electoral register at his house so i'm fucked either way.
It was the first year i was planning to vote as well.
