hey, i have seen this talked about but whats the full story or reason for this?

If you mean the head being presure tested. This is to check for cracks in the head. Which would leak water from the water cooling holes into the head which would mix with the oil rust the engine and more then likey cease the engine. I've got mine off atm which has just been done. Pick it up tomorrow morning. If its crakced it means a new head. If its not it means u skim the top and put a new head gasket on and re seal it. Simple as that. Took me 2 half hours to strip the rocker cover / cam / and head. then a hour to clean up and probs 2/3 hours to put it back together again. Never done it before and i love haynes manuals
