Hi lads,
My head gasket/head has gone. I've stripped it down now. I'm wondering whats the best to clean the head up for presure testing. I was going to jet wash it clean and then make sure i dry it off. Is this the best way. Also do i need to remove the con rods for when presure testing it.
Cheers
hmmm con-rods in the head!!! thats a new one on me

You got a 1L????
Con rods are what connects the pistons to the crank
and are in the block of the engine.

i think he means valves, lol.
valves need to be removed when pressure testing. a parts cleaner would be the best to use or a degreaser to clean the head.

Well, you ain't got push rods then. lol
Do you mean valves?

yer them things.
as far as i know you do need the valves in for pressure testing, which means springs, stem seals, collets etc need to be there, but the hydraulic lifters dont need to be.

Part 1. I've got the head out and its off to be presure tested.
I've had bets with my dad/ bro that I can put it back together. They don't think I can. Lets see what happens :p
Good luck, don't forget to let us know what happens!
