whats the best engine conversion

what is the best engine conversion to put in a nova?? is it the 2ltr turbo or do you think this is too heavy/too much power :| :|

It depends on your age, budget, what your gonna use the car for etc etc etc.
Personally i prefer small block, big power :D

well iv got a 1.4sr with twin 40's, 4-branch, kent cam/pulley, 1.3 ported and polished head,uprated fuel pump, full exhaust system. i was thinking of putting all this on a 1.6 engine but then thought shall i go the whole hog and bang in a 2ltr or 2ltr turbo??

depends what you want it for, 1/4 miles then a heavily tuned 2lt turbo will always win.
But to get big power out of small block engine you need to spend silly money, can be done but you will need a 5 figure bank balance.

Also 2lt novas dont handle shit when done properly as people seem to think.

there is no "best engine" its all down to personal preference and maybe classes that you run in. eg Russ rallies and he was doing ok in the 1.6 class but hes dropped to the 1.4 class and (when running ok) kicks ass in that ones.

but others prefer a 2.0 16v for the roads etc.


to be honest id go for a 1.6 on carbs or maybe a proper turbo job on it.
