engine fecked

Just over the past few weeks or so my engine has been making some really weird noices. like a loud tappet sound, sounds really ill and im down on power. It dont wanna idial either, its very irratic. Can anyone help...?

yer oil level was fine. was a leak in the manifold, got it sorted now, which is great! :lol:

sounds familiar:

my bro: "my cars lifters are really noisey"
me: "what at first start up?"
bro: "nope all the time"

so we go out in car and im like i dont hear anything?

he says listen and sticks the boot in, ticking noise appears

me: "hrm sounds like exhaust manfold pull into that layby"
<10 secs later>
me: "yep its the manifold, few bolts are missing and every other bolt is loose/ just about to fall out"

obviously werent tightened properly when i fitted it, replaced the missing ones with nice cap head bolts tho :)
