He bought this out of england a few months ago. We took it drag racing yesterday, but ended up not entering as the second choke aint opening on the carb. Its going to Steven Gault when i get my own nova back from him, to get setup on the rollers hopefully!

Formally owned by Dan Owens who uses this forum i think, have added a few styling bits myself now too,, Have gsi skirts here just waiting to get them painted the darker colour of the bumpers, Manta 400 mirrors to be added also.
Big engine plans tho :-)

U sticking with the 8 valve? I think it would look really good with gsi skirts and mayb a gsi front bumper.

I put the splitter on the standard bumper there and its helped it but i agree with andy a GSI one would deffo help more..
I cant really deside what to do with the engine, keep the 8V and run it on 45's or go for a XE on 45's , what ever it will be it will be happening afyter this summer, want to get the summer out of the car first..
I *think* this car came from round by me (west mids) used to see it around willenhall/walsall area. Is there a shortage of decent Nova's over in NI then lads? seems abit excessive to come over here and buy them, respect though, you are truely hardcore!
Any 'Gen' on those rear lenses? DIY jobbies?
Looks proper nice.
Wheels look really sweet.

Theres not so many desent novas about now atall anywere i think, I bought this one cause it was reasonably priced compared to the cost in leaving my other one looking the same..
Yeah I bought the car in Birmingham, but Dan's from walsall..
Rear lenses are DIY, look trick tho..

I had that style of number plate, but i've got standard plates on since the rebuild. They will be staying standard too!

what carb's he got on? Some sort of twin choke Weber?
how come he didn't stick with the Injection?
krobinson

Its running a manta twin choke carb i think!!
Not sure why the previous owner got rid of the injection, its the 115bhp 8v engine, and it put out over 130 on the rollers, using a 1.8GTE astra head.
Keith
by removing the standard injection and putting even a twin choke webber on you will see a difference. the standard injection is terrible. suffers from ICV problems like the xe and has the throttle response of a diesel.
for the best results 45s would be good but for a road car deffo a good idea using the twin choke.

Everyone has been telling me to Buy 45's but its the cosy would worry me, i like to do things on the cheap i suppose lol
With 45's id need a desent cam also and prob end up getting the head flowed by Stephen Gault so it all adds up ????

What cormac means is he's a tight arse.. Even tho if he hold half the car's he has laying around he could have an XE on throttle bodies!!
Keith
so has it got a 1.6 bottom end? l saw this car last year at pvd it is mint

Wonder is there any pics floating about of it at PVD....

*Waits for Aragorns response to the 'Carb vs Injection' debate*
Do the 2.0 8v's use a similar injection system to the C16SE and E16SE?
I'm guessing they do Just by the 20SE engine code.
