if the coils getting hot your running 12v streight across it

what have u connected to the pins on top of teh coil?

the + pin should be at 12v and the - pin should be connected to the ignition module, NOT ground

Right! OK here is how i connected it all up!

Coil has two connections next to the HT lead one is +15 the other is -1, on the side it has two small two pin connectors. Each two pin connector has +15 and -1 accordingly.
Two connectors at the top of the coil +15 connected to Live directly and -1 is grounded. (I guess you saying I should not have done it). The igntion module is connected as you have described earlier and just like in the manual.

If you saying I am running +12 right through it where does the -1 on the top should be connected to?

-1 should be connected to the green on ignition module which is pin 1

this green also runs to the dashboard for the rev counter
