OIne of the reasons I decided to rebuild me nova was the scarey way the steering wheel would "wobble" when I braked or accelerated. Also when the car was stationary there was a little bit too much play in the turn of the steering wheel.

Now I had the track rod ends replaced and I know I need new alloys because the offsets wrong for my current ones, and I'm upgrading my brakes to Astra GTE ones - but the last service indicated that worn suspension, steering elements needed to be replaced.
So I'm getting new poly bushes all round, have new (ish) shocks and springs all round and have a new steering rack. My front tie bars are okay.

BUT - I need to replace my front suspension strut tops and steering column. (to cover all the obvious areas). Does anyone know if the steering column and strut tops are interchangeable between the various Nova models or are there differences?

My car was a mk2 1.2. Its curently a 1.4 but will be a GSi shortly...

they are all the same

i baught some new strut tops from autovaux for about ?10-15 each
they didnt come with the bearings tho so they'd be a bit extra

as for the rack i'd suggest a quickrack as a replacement for your current unit but there are no differences between nova models

have your bottom balljoints been replaced? they could cause steering wander...

a binding brake caliper could cause car to pull to the side on going between accellerating and braking etc

scabby offset alloys dont help so finding some 6 or 6.5" et49 15's would do wonders imo

TBH seen as its all off i'd just buy new balljoints and trackrod ends and fit them along with the polybushes and new rack etc saves fucking around tbh
