hi guys, i realy want to clean up the engine bay of my 1.4 so that it actuly looks as good as it performs! but where do i start??? :?

i hav a bolt on k&n and have sort of polished the rocker cover but what else can i do????

i realy want to clean and polish the blocks under the rocker cover ( dont no names lol) but how do i remove tham and is it easy??

i have though about colour coding my pipes or buying one of thoses max power cover kits but what do you's think??

thanks in advance for help and advice cheers Karl!

A can of carb cleaner will clean your engine bay, spray all the oily/greasy looking areas and it will clean it up a bit. Strut brace, spray to match the colour of your car maybe? Polish the oil cap? Spray the handle/top of the dipstick? Clean your bonnet rest/support thing up with a bit of wire wool (Just nicer looking than having it caked in crap!)?

Just a few things of the top of my head, sure there is more!

do you know how to remove the block under the rocker cover and the cylinder head??? is it hard and are there like any things that you have to do first just because i heard that you had to drain something??

cheers! y u need the new bolts???

is there anything else that i would need to remove inorder to take these parts off such as belts or anything???

Aragorn

yes u need to remove the timing belt, inlet manifold and exhaust manifold and the reason u need new bolts is the headbolts arent reusable

you do realise to paint these bits your completely stripping the top half of the engine here dont you?

cylinder head, cam etc all has to come off...
