I am buying a 1.3 Sr from a mate and was wondering if anyone could give me some stuff to look out for.It's an E plate with 120,000.He's allready fitted a Cat 1 alarm and immob,Full janspeed exhaust with manifold and K+N Induction kit.It sounds pretty good and has had oil changed every 6000 miles.Most body panels are new and it's got Gsi Bumpers.any help on dodgy stuff to watch out for would be kool.Ta Fraz

check the clutch, by putting it in first with the hbrake on and lifting the clutch the car should "sink". then put it in second or third and the car should stall. if none of above new clutch time. piece of piss to do but hastle all the same :) hope this is help ??? stuart

Look out for Rusty bits (under the arches, under the battery ect.)

i would look for rust coz there fuckers for it.

if the pannels are new then has underneath been done as well?

If the car has that sort of mileage, look out 4 cam shafts, bottom end bearigs, struts, indicators , windscreen wipers and washer liQuid level,
floor mats start to wear away after about 100k, but apart from these, the main problem is the steering wheel turning the wheels.
