Ignition Swap

Guys I need help! Can I just swap 1.2 ignition to 1.4 one. I.e delco-remy to bosh. The reason is that the 1.4 SR camshaft comes with bosh ignition the 1.2 on the other hand comes with delco-remy one.

Am I going to have any problems swapping them over?

shouldn't have any probs with that, altho i think you have to swop the coils aswell. does this mean the 1.4 is finally in

Yeah I am swaping the coil!
Sorry mate 1.4 is in the garage, I have no money to start on it at the moment! :cry: I will however start on it soon! First 1.2 head will be done for 1.6 valves, then everything else step by step!

think someone on here had a problem fitting 1.2 delco stuff on the 1.4 bosch. The 1.4sr camshaft won't accept the drive i think. (think it was Barney?)

Oh come on guys! Noone can just have a look at their bosch WQ coil and the dissy and tell me how the wiring is done? Or even better send me the pic with the wiring. I am mainly concerned with two pin connector at the back of distributor.

i'd be more worried about wether the dizzy will actually fit, like i said, the drives are different i think. Unless you are using aftermarket cam (that drives both types) i don't think it will even fit!

If you are using the 1.4 cam the 1.4 dizy will fit.
but the 1.4 dizy will not fit a 1.2 cam.
